The History of
Tag Improv
Tag Improv was started in 2005 by James Scholfield, Clint Worthington, and Joey Comstock. The three, who would later be roommates, had in their minds the idea of an organization dedicated to only the highest, most sophisticated kind of humor, improvisational comedy. utilizing the Center for Student Involvement, the group became officially chartered in January 2006.
Performances in the SUB's Alumni Room were on a small stage with a small audience. However, word spread quickly of the unique brand of physical but cleaver humor, and the audiences grew.
Fall 2006 brought new members, a new stage design (including a thrust) and recognition by campus organizations as requests for Tag to entertain began to come in. Performances became even more popular, and Tag Improv grew as an organization.
Spring 2007, although with a new leader at the helm, held little change for Tag. As an internal growth period, this era in Tag was one of learning and understanding.
Now, in Fall 2007, with the new SUB Down Under completed, Tag Improv takes the stage with old friends and new, ready to begin a great season!
